If you are an opéra lover you can appreciate the spectacular evening I enjoyed at the long sold out performance of Tchaikovsky’s ‘Eugène Onegin’ at Opéra Bastille.
Controversial design by Canada’s Carlos Ott opened in 1989 to coincide with the bicentennial celebrations of the Storming of the Bastille. WIth it’s 2,700 seats and five moveable stages this is a unique venue along with fine acoustics.
The role of Tatiana was sung by diva Anna Netrebko…she was transporting ….in a word the evening was perfection!!!
