Signs of old Paris..

The wholesale fish merchants from the ports of Normandy walked Rue Montorgueil daily between the 13th and 19 centuries making it a very busy street which it is still today.

Above no. 38 rue Montorgueil stands the Escargot d’Or (Golden Snail) which is one of the oldest restaurants in Paris founded in 1832.

As a lover of staircases this restaurant staircase was transporting and I thought my apartment spiral staircase was narrow!
